So the Guy shows up at 8:00 on the day he said he would and does an awesome job and busts his hump to get it all done in one day.
Yay!
Sorry. This post is weird -the internet is sucking for the last few days and I can't upload any pics to describe what has been going on.
Mostly it's been hanging out and shaking our heads at the awesomeness of life while watching the full moon rise over Punta Banda and playing in the pool with the kids and doing Roetta stone and shopping excursions to Ensenada for last minute provisions and spending time with Gene and Ace-our new favorite pals...
But tonight is special because we ARE leaving in like 6 hours for Turtle Bay!
That's about 4 am here. I just finished pre-rigging our sheets for another departure in the pitch black and Jon filled the h20 tanks with Mexican water and a few capfuls of hydrogen peroxide to be safe-but we will mostly drink from the water we make from our water maker and wash dishes with salt water rinsed with a little fresh.
We are super-Excited about our first several day crossing. The kids are sound asleep after one last epic romp in the pool and a swanky dinner at the hotel resturaunt( cooks night off!).
Jon is calm and pretty darn thrilled about the next phase. I am a little apprehensive, i'll admit but for no particular reason-I'm like that about everything anyway.
I'm also happy.
Happy and scared and excited. Which is actually not a bad mix of emotions, really. I can't complain. Not at all. It's different out here in never knowing what's-around-the- corner land, it takes some getting used to -but once you catch your breath and look around it's pretty cool.
Winds should be fairly consistent-we are currently using Predictwind for our forecasts- and they are calling for 8-20 knots NNW for the next few days. If we average 5 knots almost all on a run or a broad reach-that should put us in TB in about 2+days. We want to make landfall during daylight, so we may have to lie-off for a few hours if we make better or worse time so we will just wait and see.
Stay tuned, sports fans. Wish us fair winds and gentle seas and we will post again from roughly 300+ miles further down the coast.
Love to all...
Delighted to hear the guy was cool. The winds of love are in your sails as if that could possibly make any difference. Welcome to Turtle Bay!!!!!!!!!
